Pronounced /shadi/, stylised Cha:dy, taken from the Arabic for “melodious”, perfectly defines the artist, singer and songwriter.
Born and raised in Paris, France; Cha:dy moved to London to pursue her musical dreams
influenced by artists such as Amy Winehouse, Lauryn Hill and MIA, whom she credits for her
Alt-R&B- Urban Jazz style. As a teenager she started a girl band with her high school
classmates where they performed in and around venues in Paris, developing her stagecraft
and passion for performing. Whilst working as a session singer, her vocal talents were
spotted by various electronic producers including Belgian producer diMaro which saw their
collaboration ‘History’ receive over a million plays on Spotify.
Her debut EP ‘My Feet On The Ground was released independently in 2017 to critical acclaim. Featuring on the influential Berlin blog ArtParasites (3 million followers) and playson Reprezent Radio, the EP perfectly represented a twentysomething experiencing life, loveand heartbreak for the first time.
Feeling a change in direction, her latest single Like A Boi sees her take a fresher, upbeat direction, exploring themes of female empowerment and patriarchy. Playlisted on the Spotify
