NEWCOMER RUE SHOWCASES LYRICAL PROWESS IN NEW SINGLE, “TRAFFIC”
RELEASED ON ALL MUSIC PLATFORMS EARLY OCTOBER
DEBUT EP, “IVY’S KID” DROPS END-NOVEMBER
MUSIC VIDEO OUT NOW!
This week we are excited to introduce British Zimbabwean artist, RUE, who has released her latest single, “TRAFFIC”, from her forthcoming debut EP "IVY'S KID". The music video for TRAFFIC was just released last Friday (8th November).
Artists like Sho Madjozi, Busiswa and Muzi are finally putting Southern African music on the map, and RUE’s now here to rep an RnB/soul vibe!
Finding song-writing as a form of therapy, RUE’s flawless story-telling skills are both relatable and raw. Confronting themes of loss, love and identity, with an unmistakably British, melodic vocal, the unique instrumental with Southern African influences celebrates RUE’s Zimbabwean roots.
This distinct duality, which sets RUE apart, is explored further in her soon to drop EP, “IVY’S KID”. At a time when authentic African culture is finally gaining prominence in UK popular culture, the New Age RnB songstress will explore her definition of “home”, through an unconventional cross-continental sound.
“RUE has a future-facing R&B/soul sound that is bound to latch on in 2020. How can this genre be dead with a talent like RUE coming through?"
