North-West London newcomer Tamera unveils her debut single ‘Romeo’. A smooth, smokey, R&B jam, she reflects on a serious and passionate relationship with an all too familiar hindsight.
An infectious debut which speaks volumes on talent, Tamera also begins to carve out her unique visual identity as she shares a 70s sci-fi inspired visual that sees her go as far as space for the one she loves. Directed by India Rose, this statement video combines lo-fi film production and FX footage to create a nostalgic and stylish story.
Having grown up just outside of London in Gravesend, Kent listening to the sounds of everyone from Whitney Houston to James Brown, Missy Elliot to Mariah Carey, Biggie Smalls and Beyonce, Tamera always had music and creativity in her veins. In 2017 she left the suburbs for the big city and threw herself into a totally new reality. Feeling the distance from friends and family to lean on, like diary entries she poured her heart into her songs when she had no one else to talk to about the trials and tribulations of life and love as a young adult, honing her sound in the process.
An undeniably impressive debut that leaves you wanting more, ‘Romeo’ firmly cements Tamera as a one to watch for 2019.
