We are returning for a collaboration with the amazing Allbright Collective, a networking club for businesswomen, founders of the Allbright Academy and their amazing Mayfair Club!
As the Brexit deadline draws closer and the future relationship between Britain and the EU becomes more uncertain, we are coming together to discuss the victories, struggles, defeats and the paths we have taken as migrant womxn starting a new life and business in a country that is not our own. It is a topic very close to our hearts, as 7 of our own WXMB 2 members are non-natives to the UK.
On this special topic, we will speak to a few of our close friends who have found work, life, love, friends and family in the UK and who hail from all over the world: American immigration lawyer and Partner at a law firm Eryn Hanlon (USA); Digital entrepreneur and Music industry professional Saija Mahon (Finland); and Senior Producer at LOUD and Brand Partnerships at Mixcloud Jana Dankmeyer (Netherlands). Hosted by WXMB 2 founder and Events producer, Petra Kluk (Croatia).
Our plan is to openly share the stories of why we moved to another country, to explore the driving force behind our decision, to examine the main issues we faced straight after arriving, to talk about whether we had problems opening our businesses or finding work, to share the best things that have happened to us since arriving, and much more!
We will also be giving advice on specific bullet points in our individual journeys, which will be followed by a safe, open space for anyone who feels they may want to share their story as well.
Timings:
6pm - arrival (check in at Reception up the stairs)
6.30 – 8.00pm panel talk and open space for sharing stories and experiences on the topic (5th floor)
8.00 – 10.30 music & networking on 5th floor with music selection provided by Ynez from WXMB 2
