Womxn of Music Business - Industry Panel presented by WXMB 2 featuring Carin Abdula, Sofia Ilyas, Keira Sinclair & Frankie Wells.
Wigflex invite some of the music industry’s leading business minds to open up a fully inclusive panelled discussion hosted by WXMB 2; the collective that are tackling inequality within the music industry head on. Joining the discussion, we have: ‘Outer Agency’ founder Carin Abdula. ‘Float’ and ‘Float PR’ founder Sofia Ilyas (previously at Erased Tapes) and Co-founder of ‘POLY Agency’ Keira Sinclair.
Outer is a cultural production agency that develops, manages and represents projects and individual artists in the realms of advanced music and audio-visual performances.
Float & Float PR are a PR and Consultancy agency and record label who have gained high-profile campaigns for Dishoom and Carhartt WIP, plus worked on album campaigns such as Talaboman for R&S and Yorkston, Thorne and Khan for Domino records. Founder Sofia was previously at Erased Tapes for five years where she was an integral part of raising the profile of artists such as Nils Frahm as well as the label.
Poly are a booking + artist management agency based in Berlin/London working with artists such as Awesome Tapes From Africa, DJ Stingray, Gorgon Sound, Hodge, Kahn + Neek, Peach, Peverelist, Shanti Celeste, SPFDJ & many more.
With an uprising in the industry of communities trying to find safe spaces to play, create and grow, foundation.fm’s mission is to showcase the hottest emerging talent in the underground music scene led by a diverse group of women, LGTBQI+ person’s and talented creatives who support our values – with women at the forefront. Founded by three remarkable females; Becky Richardson (Co-Founder of National Radio promotions company Ghost Promo, Artist Manager at UROK Management) Ami Bennett (Executive Producer at Somethin’ Else, leading on R1, 1Xtra and Asian Network) and Frankie Wells (Former Exec Producer at Radar Radio & Team Assistant at Capital Xtra & BBC Radio 1Xtra), Foundation FM will be based in London and will be live on air from 10am to 10pm, every day.
